Oriel High School (SSC - Special Support Centre)
Service
Oriel High school is a caring, energetic and vibrant school for 11-18 year olds. The school is also home to a Special Support Centre for 20 students who have an EHCP to support significant ‘Additional Learning Needs’. Admission to the SSC is via West Sussex SEND Team, in consultation with our school.
What we do:
- We support students aged 11-18 with EHCP provision for additional learning needs, where the primary need is severe Specific Learning Difficulties and/or a Developmental Language Disorder or Delay.
- All students registered with the SSC are full members of the school community. Students are included in mainstream classes across the curriculum however, they have taught sessions which replace the study of a modern language.
- We provide small group or 1:1 learning opportunities for students to further develop their Literacy and Numeracy skills, alongside independent learning skills and Speech and Language skills.
- We are a friendly team who are passionate about ensuring our students have access a wide range of educational opportunities.
