Impact Iniatives - Independent Advocacy (People Come First)
Service
Impact’s Advocacy services help people to have a voice in important issues in their lives. Staff and volunteers assist people in getting independent advice, knowing their rights, working out what they want to say, speaking at meetings and talking to professionals. We work with people who have a learning disability, a physical or sensory impairment, acquired brain injury, or on the autistic spectrum.
What we do:
- Impact advocacy can support people who are resident in West Sussex and have a recognised learning difficulty and are aged 18 and over or are a parents with a learning difficulty aged 18 or over going through Child Care Proceedings.
- Impact advocacy can support people who are aged 18-64; have a physical impairment and/or have a sensory impairment; and have an acquired brain injury.
- We can work with people for a period of 4 months. After this time the advocacy partnership will be reviewed and extended if required.
- This is a free service to anyone who meets the criteria above.
