NSPCC Schools Coordinator - Kalee Knight

Service

The NSPCC is the UK's leading children's charity, specialising in child protection and dedicated to protecting children today to prevent abuse tomorrow.
We work with schools, providing our Speak Out Stay Safe safeguarding programme to an amazing 90% of Primary schools, as well as training and consultancy services and a range of other lesson resources and information to support schools. We also have a range of resources to support parents/carers of children with SEND.

What we do:

  • Our main service for schools in relation to SEND is our Speak Out Stay Safe SEND programme, this free programme is aimed at children aged 9-11 with moderate learning difficulties. It can be used within Special Schools or within Mainstream Schools.
  • We have a wealth of other free resources to support schools with topics including safeguarding, online safety, bullying and relationships. These can help to support the PSHE and RSE curriculum.
  • We also have specific resources to support children who are deaf or hearing impaired, such as the Deaf Zone of the Childline website. Our Speak Out Stay Safe programme is also available using BSL.
  • Our PANTS resources support schools with teaching children the underwear rule and helping to keep them safe from sexual abuse. Our updated resources have been created in partnership with the PSHE Association, so they effectively support the curriculum.
  • We have free resources to support parents and carers of children with SEND, such as support with online safety and wellbeing.

Our users say:

The resources were really clear and the sessions were active and engaging. The students liked making a safe circle and Buddy was a useful tool to aid turn taking.
