Field Place Infant School (Special Support Centre - SSC)

Field Place First School is a mainstream infant school which in addition has a Special Support Centre (SSC) for children who have speech & language difficulties.

We believe that all children are unique and we celebrate diversity. We are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure high expectations and the best possible progress for all groups of learners regardless of need or ability.

What we do:

To be considered for a place within the SSC children must have an Education Health Care Plan.
Children are based in their mainstream classroom supported by SSC staff where necessary, as well as withdrawn for specific interventions and speech therapy sessions.
The children who attend our SSC have been identified & assessed by a Speech and Language Therapist as having significant receptive and /or expressive language needs.
Individual programmes of work are devised by teachers and Speech and Language Therapists to address the pupil’s needs as outlined on their Education, Health and Care Plan.
