Barns Green Primary School
Service
Our award-winning school building has the facilities of a much larger school but keeps the village school feeling. We include all children in all aspects of the school - from World Book Day celebrations, to end of year performances, school trips and our wider curriculum days. As a small school, our staff get to know pupils exceptionally well.
What we do:
- 2022 Ofsted report "Leaders work with teachers to carefully track and identify pupils who are struggling or have additional needs. Staff provide additional teaching and support for individuals. All pupils, including those in early years, learn well."
- We are a small Primary School in Barns Green, in between Broadbridge Heath and Billingshurst. We opened our purpose built new building in May 2015. We are fully accessible and include a treatment room with hoist and shower.
- We have 5 mixed age classes, taught in bright, airy classrooms with access to own outdoor areas. We have a school garden, a great playing field, as well as large tarmac play areas.
- All staff receive regular training in how to support children with SEND and we have a learning mentor one day a week. SEND support is tailored to individual children. SENDCo (Amie Bennet) is available to meet parents/carers and can be easily contacted.
- We are part of the Weald SEND Alliance; a network of local schools whose aim is to plan and offer support for families with children and young people who have additional needs. We work together to get the latest training and share expertise.
