Boxgrove CofE Primary School

Service

Boxgrove CofE Primary School was founded in 1741 by The Countess of Derby. It is a Primary School with up to 70 pupils on roll aged between 4 and 11. To this day Boxgrove C.E Primary School is very much a part of the Church of England community.

What we do:

  • Our Governing Body ensure that as a school we make appropriate provision for all pupils identified as having special educational needs. The named SENCO for the school is Mrs Kim Thornton.
  • A member of the Governing body, Mrs Janet Reeves, takes particular interest in special educational needs, although the Governing Body as a whole is responsible for making provision for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Our school strives to provide an engaging and exciting curriculum for all children. Your child’s class teacher will plan for the variety of needs in the classroom by providing appropriate tasks and achievable outcomes to extend your child's learning.
  • We aim to develop children’s emotional and social well-being in partnership with parents and carers. In some cases this may be provided by specialist support from our play therapist from Your Space Counselling.
  • External support services play an important part in helping the school identify, assess and make provision for children with SEN.
