Dorking Speech and Language Therapy

Service

Supporting children and young people (CYP) in gaining their identity within the world through language and communication. I am trauma informed with 12 years of SEN school experience in working with a range of diagnoses and mental health needs. This service offers support for families and schools to encourage generalisation of skills and to develop interaction and communication strategies to keep the CYP in mind, develop meaningful friendships and access education.

What we do:

  • Individual intervention and assessment for CYP who present with speech, language and communication needs in their home or school environment.
  • Training and support for staff, families and professionals who work and interact with the CYP.
  • Highly specialist, trauma-informed Speech and Language therapist working with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, PDA, ODD, DLD.
  • Offering knowledge and experience of the school environment, paired with clinical skills, to support social cognition, connection, receptive and expressive language skills to encourage curiosity, awareness and motivation to learn.
  • Sessions take place face-to-face after a telephone consultation to gather information from the referee.
